1. Salesforce Has Launched Slackbot: Introducing a New Agentic Work OS

January 13, 2026

1

Salesforce has launched a new AI-powered Slackbot that works as a personal work agent inside Slack. It can quickly answer questions using Salesforce data, past conversations, calendars, and connected tools, helping employees save time and avoid switching between apps.

After testing it internally, most users continued using Slackbot and reported high satisfaction and significant time savings. Slackbot feels more like a teammate than a tool because it understands work context.

With this update, Slack is becoming an agentic work operating system where people and AI work together in one place.

2. Salesforce Announces Support for Google’s Universal Commerce Protocol to Bring Product Discovery and Checkout into Conversational AI

January 14, 2026

2

Commerce is shifting from simple browsing and checkout to intelligent, AI-driven conversations between shoppers and brands. During Cyber Week 2025, this shift was clear as AI influenced $262 billion in holiday sales.

Salesforce and Google are expanding their partnership to support the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), a new open standard for agentic commerce. Salesforce will add native UCP support to Agentforce Commerce, allowing merchants to deliver AI-powered shopping experiences across Google’s AI platforms, including Google Search AI Mode and the Gemini app.

UCP connects AI systems directly to merchants’ backend data, such as inventory, loyalty, and pricing, in real time. This helps brands reach shoppers faster, reduce integration complexity, enable native checkout, and keep full control of merchandising, fulfillment, and customer relationships while supporting seamless handoffs to human teams when needed.

3. World Economic Forum Partners with Salesforce to Launch an Agentic Assistant at Davos 2026

January 15, 2026

3

Salesforce and the World Economic Forum have launched a new AI-powered concierge app called EVA, built on the Agentforce 360 platform, to support more than 3,000 global leaders at the 2026 Annual Meeting in Davos. EVA uses the Forum’s institutional data to help attendees prepare, make decisions, and take action more efficiently than was previously possible with manual processes.

Unlike traditional chatbots, EVA can reason, prioritize, and act on behalf of users. It helps leaders personalize schedules, navigate the event campus, prepare for meetings, and manage networking. By reducing manual work and delivering instant, relevant insights, EVA turns complex event planning into fast, actionable intelligence and demonstrates how an agentic enterprise can work in practice.
